Newport Seafood & Wine Festival Coming February 20-23
The Newport Seafood & Wine Festival showcases the bounty of the Pacific Northwest with more than 150 vendors including 80 wineries.
Between February 20 and 23, Newport, Oregon swells by some 20,000 people that will be attending the 37th Annual Newport Seafood and Wine Festival at the South Beach Marina. This signature event attracts visitors to the Central Oregon Coast to taste a multitude of seafood favorites and sip some of the Northwest’s finest wines. The festival boasts more than 150 vendors, including seafood purveyors, artisans and some 80 Northwest wineries.
For most, the highlight of the weekend is the much-coveted wine competition. This is an opportunity to sample and purchase a wide range top-notch Northwest wines, meet the winemakers and discover why the wine world comes to Oregon. Associated with the event is the longest continuous wine competition in the Northwest. Each participating winery may enter up to three wines in the prestigious commercial completion. As the Northwest has grown as a wine-producing region, so has the competition. A panel of five regional wine experts conducts the judging and announces the winners at the event. An amateur competition is also held.
Paired with the excellent festival wines are exceptional seafood offerings. You’ll find crab, bay shrimp, oysters, salmon, albacore, and other local delicacies in abundance, as well as other types of food.
